It's starting to feel like summer here in Gainesville. We were able to go without air conditioning until last night - it was 80 degrees inside! Only ran it until the house cooled down to 78, but what a huge difference! Instead of staying cooped up today, Coby and I drove a few miles down the road to Alachua. They have a splash pad out there that is perfect for little ones.

Trip out to Alachua Splash Pad
We knew it was coming, but it was still hard to say good-bye to our babysitter, Charlotte. This weekend she graduated from UF and next weekend she's getting married and moving into their new home! She has truly been a blessing this last year and I don't know what we would have done without her! Case in point, when Robert got the news that he would be out of town Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of last week, she was able to come to the rescue and take care of Coby during the day. She also sings songs, plays music, and brings new and interesting toys to play with. We love her and will miss her so much. But...she is a Seminole and we hope to meet up with her in the fall for a football game in Tallahassee.

There were a ton of kids out there - all of them super friendly. Coby just jumped right in there with the "big" kids, running around, jumping in the water, and stealing their buckets.
He also enjoyed putting his mouth over the spout of water.
Jacoby's becoming very independent and doesn't really like to be told what to do....kinda a bossy little guy...here he was able to run around freely without me constantly worrying about him drowning!
I'm going to add this to our list of "boredom buster" destinations. Both of us had such a nice time AND got cooled off.
