Santa brought me a skateboard!

After eating breakfast we got dressed and headed out to give Coby's skateboard a whirl. We didn't invest in pads (yet!!) but we does have a bike helmet that he wore while skating. We were the first ones there, but the place filled up pretty fast - some of them looking darn good too! Coby held his own, especially considering that he's not even 3 yet.

Here he is at the edge of the skater bowl. Yeah, this place is definitely a little more "big time" than I realized. Coby, on the other hand, was undeterred and unafraid!
Here come the kids to really show us how it's done!

I am happy to report that we left the skate park in one piece, our only injury a busted lip. I give this board until his birthday before he's needing an upgrade - and some beefed up pads!

Christmas Morning 2011

I think this was the first year that Coby really "got" the whole Christmas morning thing. He was definitely ready for Santa to come - I think he believed that Santa would be in our living room when he woke up, waiting to pass out presents. Still, boy was he excited to get a look at the presents under the tree and in his stocking!
Note to self: Need to find out where to get one more of our family stockings!!!!
The much talked about skateboard...

And another Buzz Lightyear action figure. The one we got last year has (literally) been loved to pieces. Let's hope this one lasts!

Now that breakfast is done, we're off to the skate park to test out the skate board!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

All I Want For Christmas...

Our visit to Santa was the best yet! Granted, we'd walked by a couple of times on previous visits to the mall, but even so, I was pretty impressed by how calm he was. When it was our turn, Coby jumped right up on Santa's lap, told him he wanted a skateboard for Christmas, and hopped right on down. Strictly business that guy :)

Homecoming Weekend

This was Homecoming weekend for UF, so just about everybody had Friday off for the parade. Ada and I took Coby and Cory to watch. Ada works for the UF Foundation, which is somehow connected to the alumni center. They had an area reserved right in front of the stadium at the beginning of the parade. Ada's work also organized a cook-out, so we were able to eat burger and chips while we watched. Can't beat that!
The man in back is riding the BIGGEST cow I have ever seen! I would have gotten a better picture, but to be honest, I was in shock at how BIG it was and then before I knew it, it was passing me by! Seriously. Look how BIG that thing is!

The boys did pretty well until about the last 15 minutes of the parade. Then they started climbing the tree behind us.

Robert took care of the boys yesterday while Ada and I got to go to the UF Homecoming football game. We had a great time and it was an exciting game!
I love November football games here in Florida - the weather is cooler and you get to bundle up! It's just too hot to sit in a stadium for 3 hours in August!

Happy Halloween!

We had a looonnnggg Halloween weekend with many celebrations! First, we had a party with our play-group friends Saturday night. The kids all dressed up and we enjoyed good food and conversation with our friends.
Coby is pouting because he desperately wants the pirate sword from Sofia's costume...

Once he got his hands on it, all was well. Spoiled rotten, and devil horns to beat.
Sunday night we went over to the pumpkin patch down the street for their annual "Trunk-or-Treat" event. They also had games, a bounce house, petting zoo, and trick-or-treating out of the trunk of cars.
On the 31st we met up with Ada and Cory to trick-or-treat in Grandma Bonamie's neighborhood. We had a blast, and got TONS of candy :)
Our two football players were adorable and very popular!
Here are the boys.
Getting 2-year olds to sit still is like herding cats, but we finally got a good one!
After picking up pizza, we headed home to put our feet up and sort our candy.

Painting Pumpkins Pink

I ordered Coby's Halloween costume last week, thinking it might take a couple weeks to arrive. Well, "Suprise!", it showed up three days later. He has been asking for a football helmet since Cory's birthday when he got one and we have been putting it off, promising he could have it as a Halloween costume. The package arrived Thursday and it wasn't until this morning that I finally got it off of him. I think we have ourselves a Gator.

The UF Cancer Research Center (where Ada works) hosted a "Paint A Pumpkin Pink" event this weekend to raise awareness for Breast Cancer. We had a great time pinking out our HOT pink pumpkin and then painting it green, Coby's favorite color.
Coby, Cory, and Ada's niece and nephews...
Leaning in to get just one more pumpkin...
Afterwards we took a walk around Lake Alice with the boys. Here they are leaning over to get a better look at a gator gobbling up a fish for lunch!

The finished pumpkin.

That evening Robert and I went out to dinner to celebrate our 4th anniversary. Horray for date night!

Today was spent running to Home Depot and working on the play structure. Coby wants to be in on all the action of course.
We also managed to take a little time out to walk the San Felasco trail with Nicole, Griffen, and Lincoln. The boys had a great time stomping in the creek and throwing sticks off of the bridge.
Here's Coby showing off his pumpkins.
