Family Fun at Westside Park

Had a great start to this week with a pudding paint playdate at our house Monday. We read "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" to the kids and then painted a bear with chocolate pudding. So fun!
Robert had a late lesson this afternoon so we all headed down to Westside to play. Coby and I stayed on the court next to Robert and worked on his swing.

Once his lesson was over, Robert took over for me. Coby even hit the ball over the net a couple of times!!!
Here's one he hit. Check out that form - racquet over the shoulder and everything!
Robert and I even got to do a little hitting, Jacoby alternately dodging our balls or chasing after them.

We finally headed home to grill chicken for dinner and make milkshakes for dessert. Yum =o)

January's COLD!!!

Although Florida was the only state in the U.S. not to have snow on the ground this past week (even the mountains in Hawaii had snow) it is still freezing here! I am ready for January to be over and for spring to start! With the freezing temperatures we've been spending more time than usual outside. Luckily (?) the NFL playoffs are on. Jacoby may not know his colors or be able to consistently count to 3, but he knows what a pass, catch, kick, and touchdown are!

Today we had some good times in the backyard while the sun was out and it wasn't too cold.
Enjoying the 3-day weekend very much - so happy to be home with Coby during the day and even happier to be sleeping in on these cold mornings!

Family Time

After such a long and wonderful Christmas Break, it was hard to get back into our normal routine...Jacoby still wants to go to bed at 10 pm, I still want to wake up at 8 am, and Robert wants full days off. So, this Sunday we took time to hang out in the backyard, relax, and play some soccer.
We played until it got too dark and Jacoby pooped out!
Once inside, Robert and Coby played with the trains while I cooked dinner.
The table is great. It has roads and water painted on it and room for larger cars and other vehicles to drive around on. It really helps us keep things organized in the living room!

Then dinner as a family - my personal favorite meal: chicken, mashed potatoes and peas. Jacoby got the Carharts from Uncle Mo and Robert got that hat on our honeymoon!
And I have to brag a little...Robert and I have already completed one of our New Year's Resolutions! We've finally painted our bedroom and it really does look great. Before (and I know this sounds weird) it still felt like the former owner's bedroom. Now it's really ours.
