Memorial Day Weekend

For Memorial Day we took drove south to visit Robert's parents and to camp at Jonathan Dickinson State Park. We had a WONDERFUL time from start to finish :o)

The campsite was right on the Loxahatchee River. Robert was nervous that there would be water moccasins, alligators and Florida panthers, but the ranger assured us that all of those creatures would rather stay in the parts of the park that people rarely entered, not in the campground. Awesome.
Our first morning there we hiked to the top of Hobe "Mountain." A whopping 86 feet above sea level!

Camping in South Florida = HOT!!! Good thing we weren't too far from the beach :-)
A quick break from camping to have lunch with Robert's parents and sisters at Olive Garden.
Then back to the beach.
Stomping my sand castles.
"Yessssss!" All the sandcastles have been obliterated.

Back at the campsite, cooking s'mores.
This kid loves camping!!! I swear we could have stayed an entire week and he just would have gotten happier each day.

Back to the beach the next morning before we had to take off for home.

Happy Mother's Day

Felt like the happiest mom in the world when Robert told me a few weeks ago that he had booked a hotel in Daytona Beach for Mother's Day! It was just overnight, which meant no hassle packing or worry about forgetting something. Best of all, Coby loves the beach!
He has no fear of the water, jumps right into the waves and kicks his legs like crazy!
Even though the water was a nice 80 degrees, his little lips did eventually turn purple so we headed up to the beach. Coby does a great job of building (then destroying!) sandcastles.
Already planning a trip back...
Here's our pooped little guy on the ride home...
